Professor and Head
Heading the Dept. is one of the very active academicians, serving academia and industrial consultancy for 25 years in various capacities. His contributions to capacity building in ocean engineering and offshore structures are visible through the innovative methods of teaching and research to undergraduate and postgraduate students in India and abroad. He has invested his ideas in creating a large number of video course for the distance education offered by the National Program of Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) and Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), Ministry of Education, Govt of India. These courses benefitted many academicians, students, and practicing engineers in India and abroad. He also authored twenty-five textbooks and edited four books in the domain of offshore structures, contributing to learning through reinforced concepts. He is a member of many professional bodies in India and abroad.
